Broken Arrow Wear has highly specialized processes and techniques used to screen print shirts. When we screen print shirts, it is far beyond the screen printing process taught in art class or the at home screen printing kits you can buy at craft stores. The process to screen print shirts starts with the artwork. We can work with an existing design you have, or let our in-house artists create a custom design for you. The design used to screen print is color separated, and our artists make sure everything will be legible and blend correctly when printed. Each ink color is made into its own film positive, which is used to burn a screen for that ink color. At Broken Arrow Wear, we have a whole department that takes care of burning screens to print correctly, as this is a very important step in the process. The screen is coated in a photosensitive emulsion, and the color separated positive is attached to the emulsion coated screen. The, the screen is exposed to uv light, which burns the design into the screen by removing the emulsion to let the ink come through the screen in the particular places it needs to in order to screen print tees. After the screens are made, they are moved to particular press needed for the order. The screens are loaded into the machine and aligned. This makes sure the design is lined up perfectly so the design will be crisp and clear when we screen print apaprel. Next, we load the proper ink colors to the screens and begin to actually screen print the shirts.
